League Against Cruel Sports forced to pay £30,000 to former CEO for breach of contract

The League Against Cruel Sports has agreed to pay nearly £30,000 to its former chief executive for breach of contract, as part of ongoing legal proceedings.

The animal charity has agreed to pay Andy Knott, who was its chief executive from January 2018 to March last year, a total of £29,505 after allegedly reneging on an agreed three-month notice period payment.

The High Court filing, which was lodged by Knott last year, said he had made an oral agreement with one of the charity’s trustees that he would cease working for the charity on 22 March last year, but would be paid three months’ notice if he agreed to assist where necessary during this period.

The filing alleged that the charity failed and refused to pay Knott the sum agreed.
