Fake Fox Cub Appeal

Save a Stock Image Fox Cub

The League Against Cruel Sports claims that “A small donation could save THIS fox cub from a future of fear and suffering. Help us ensure it lives its life in peace.”

Despite the image being exposed as a stock image of an American fox cub, the League appeal remains online.

Misleading League Video

fakING Exmoor National Park hunting

In May 2024, the League Against Cruel Sports released a video for their Exmoor National Park campaign, which was subsequently retweeted by Acting CEO Chris Luffingham. However, the video’s credibility is undermined by the inclusion of a misleading hunting scene filmed over 60 miles from the Exmoor, highlighting a concerning lapse in the League’s standards.

We examine why the League is misleading the public and its supporters.

Ministry of Defence Outrage

fakING outrage for likes

In December 2022, Ben Wallace, then Defence Secretary, revoked a Memorandum of Understanding with the League Against Cruel Sports that had provided the charity with advance notice of hunting with dogs on Ministry of Defence land.

Wallace’s justification for this move was widely condemned as dishonest and disgraceful. However, the League’s response was equally questionable, reflecting a troubling lack of integrity on both sides of the dispute.

Awards Over Wildlife

wasting donor money League style

The League Against Cruel Sports boasts of being the “Gold Winner in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride Awards 2022 for Best Not-For-Profit Campaign.”

While this accolade may seem impressive, a closer inspection reveals it came at a significant cost: thousands of pounds in donor funds were spent on entering the competition, diverting resources away from crucial wildlife protection efforts.

The moment there is suspicion about a person’s motives, everything he does becomes tainted.
